WhatsApp has already started testing a new feature that will allow users to transfer chats history much faster and with much less effort from Android devices to iOS devices. WABetaInfo first reported on this feature when it was spotted in a beta version of WhatsApp updates last September, but no details were available until then.
What To Expect From the Next Update?
According to the latest beta of WhatsApp for iOS, 22.2.74, we will soon see the import of chat history from Android mobile devices. WABetaInfo has reported that you need to install the Move to iOS app to transfer your data. WhatsApp will ask the user for permission to transfer data in the iOS app before initiating a transfer. Presumably, user data will be transmitted via Wi-Fi or cable.
There is no information yet about which versions of the operating system or devices will support the upcoming feature. This new feature was expected by many, who know, WhatsApp has already introduced a similar feature of transferring chat from iOS to Android.
What if You Switch Sides?
When it comes to transferring chats from an iPhone to a Samsung phone, a way to quickly transfer history to an Android phone is already available. WhatsApp allows you to move your iOS messages history to some Samsung phones. So you do not need to use popular cloud storage like Google Drive or iCloud. You can also use this feature if you have a Pixel phone or any other device running Android 12 after the latest feature update.
In the past, it took many tedious actions to save precious data on another OS platform, but now that will change. It is unknown how the data will be transmitted or when it will be available, but more details will soon be available. What do you think about the upcoming WhatsApp update?
