After a lot of updates, Instagram has finally introduced a new way for you to engage with a creator. In the latest version of the app, you can like Stories that appear on your dashboard. This might be a pretty successful move from the company as Stories proved to be one of the most popular and effective ways of advertisement.
When you see a Story from a creator you adore, you can grant them a like just by pushing a heart button in the bottom right corner of the screen. This action won’t open up a private dialogue as it happens with reactions. After some beta-testing, the function was implemented into the app pretty quickly.
Although, you cannot see how many likes the story has got, because it is available only to the creator. The direct way of how these interactions will promote certain content is unknown. But, you can test out this feature for yourself and see how much attention your friends pay to your Stories.
This feature seems to be an alternative version of reactions; the authors of the Stories now will see thousands of likes on their content and understand their audience better without getting a ton of notifications from reactions which usually leads to a lot of unwanted dialogues in the DMs.
Likes will also give the creators a good way of seeing the statistics on how each Story performs, which gives way for creating new original content or improving their engagement rates because these numbers are very important for future advertisers.
A similar function has been present on Instagram Reels for quite a while, and it is nice to see how gradually the app improves its performance. These updates will come in handy both for the creators and companies, and we will see how many opportunities they will open.
